Hereditary chief challenges Nisga’a treaty

A historic treaty is at risk of being struck down in British Columbia.

In B.C.’s Supreme Court, a member of the Nisga’a nation is arguing that the Nisga’a land claims deal violates the Canadian Constitution.

It’s a challenge that has split a nation and created strange bedfellows.
