Prisoners at the Whitehorse correctional centre are being cut off Methadone.
Methadone is used to treat drug addictions and is commonly used in other prisons in Canada.
But in the Yukon it’s now being called a health risk.

Methadone should be properly monitored and weened off after a certain amout of time…Addicts tend to stay on Methadone and never go off.
