Brandon Montour brings Stanley Cup home to Six Nations

The biggest First Nation in Canada spent some time with the Stanley Cup Wednesday exactly one month after the Florida Panthers won the National Hockey League championship.

The Six Nations community of Ohsweken welcomed now-former Panthers’ defenseman Brandon Montour with a parade and celebration.

Montour signed a seven-year deal with the Seattle Kraken worth $50 million on July 1.

“I’ve told people today is obviously about me and what I’ve done, but today is about everyone else and to share that with them,” he told reporters.

Families and supporters lined the two-kilometres parade route to watch Montour, 30, display the massive trophy.

Montour has also played for the Anaheim Ducks and Buffalo Sabres.
