Senate committee studies elver fishery shut down by DFO in March

A Senate committee is studying the issue of the elver fishery in the Maritimes, which was shut down in March. DFO Minister Diane Lebouthillier cited a need for conservation and the rise in violence related to illegal harvesting as reasons for the closure.
