Mi’kmaw family arrested for harvesting elvers in Nova Scotia

In southwestern Nova Scotia this past weekend, fisheries officers arrested a Mi’kmaw family for harvesting elvers. The elver season was cancelled by the Department of Fisheries and Oceans about a month ago, but the family says they will never stop fishing.
