Members of the Buffalo River Dene Nation in northern Saskatchewan held a peaceful protest recently as a first step in taking back what is rightfully theirs.

Members of the Buffalo River Dene Nation in northern Saskatchewan held a peaceful protest recently as a first step in taking back what they say is rightfully theirs.

Sixty years ago their traditional hunting and gathering lands were taken away by the federal government and used as a military bombing site.

Chief Lance Byhette says the lands still belong to them.
