No bilingual bonus for federal employees who speak an Indigenous language

It was revealed this week that the Treasury Board of Canada will not offer a bilingual bonus for employees who speak an Indigenous language. With 65 per cent of Nunavummiut speaking Inuktitut as their first language, Nunavut MP Lori Idlout has been lobbying to have the $800 a year bonus made available for federal civil servants who speak an Indigenous language.
