Tuesday’s meeting between Wet’suwet’en hereditary chiefs and Six Nations Confederacy chiefs kicked off an 18-day cr0ss-country tour for the delegation from British Columbia.
It’s a return trip for the hereditary chiefs after the Mohawks of Six Nations and Tyendinaga rose up in solidarity with a rail and road blockade in 2020.
The blockade was part of the Wet’suwet’en fight against the construction of the Coastal Gaslink Pipeline acorss their traditional territory.
The tour is scheduled to wrap up after stops in Quebec, Winnipeg and Vancouver.
