Sipekne’katik First Nation chief says DFO not recognizing Mi’kmaw treaty rights

As Mi'kmaw communities prepare to launch their moderate livelihood fishery, talks with the Department of Fisheries and Oceans have failed. Sipekne'katik First Nation has now joined roundtable discussions with Crown-Indigenous Relations on Mi’kmaw treaty rights.
