Only one third of tagged Yukon River Chinook salmon are crossing the Whitehorse fish ladder

In recent years, Yukon First Nations have severely restricted Chinook salmon harvesting due to low fish numbers. Now, a study has found only a third of tagged upper Yukon River Chinook salmon are making it past the fish ladder near Whitehorse to swim upstream and spawn.
