Bill Reid was an acclaimed Haida master artist and is credited with reviving Haida art.
He’s best known for his large sculptures housed in prominent places, like the Spirit of Haida Gwaii jade canoe in Vancouver International Airport.
Now an exhibition at the Northwest Art Gallery will honour him in celebration of what would have been his 100th birthday.
The exhibit, To Speak with a Golden Voice, will feature rarely seen treasures of Reid’s along with works from artists inspired by him.
