Northern Saskatchewan has reported another death because of the COVID-19 virus.
Nelda Maurice, a mother and retired school teacher from Ile-a-la-Crosse died on May 25 in a Saskatoon hospital.
“She got sick around the 26th of April and she was flown out May 2nd and everything happened so quickly from there,” said her daughter Lana.
“The last time I talked to her was the 5th or 6th, she was messaging me on Facebook because she couldn’t really talk, it was hard for her to talk. Her breathing was kind of laboured.”
Northern Saskatchewan has been hit particularly hard by the virus accounting for 40 per cent of the province’s positive cases.
