13,000 residents have been evacuated from Fort McMurray and Fort Vermilion

The Alberta government confirmed that 13,000 residents have been evacuated from Fort McMurray and Fort Vermilion. The ice buildup on the Athabasca River has caused the river to overflow. Minister of Environment and Parks called it a once a century flood.
