Antoine Mountain has almost sold out the first print of his new memoir.
The Dene artist, newspaper columnist and residential school survivor tells his story in “From Bear Rock Mountain: The Life and Times of a Dene Residential School Survivor”.
The memoir brings readers through decades of change in Denendeh, through a series of photographs, poetry and anecdotes.
Mountain said he went through eight different editors and said none of them could really understand what his story was all about.
“As our people say, you have to challenge your life,” he told APTN News. “You have to put it all on the line every single day, every chance you get.”
