On Thursday people in Winnipeg’s north end celebrated Canadian Multiculturalism Day with the community’s second annual Indigenous powwow and multicultural gathering.
The event is hosted by the White Buffalo Spiritual Society and other community partners.
Melissa Atkins, the event’s lead organizer, said the event’s purpose is go “bring different cultures together to share their song and dance,” and to “try and break some gaps between some cultures, to bring awareness to different cultures that are within Winnipeg.”
