The RCMP is looking into a tip it received on January 20 from a man who alleges his father killed Amber Tuccaro.

The RCMP said it’s still investigating the Tuccaro case, and will take whatever action it deems necessary, according to a media advisory.

The statement also said the police received another tip from the same man in December 2019, alleging his father was responsible for numerous other missing person and homicide cases in Alberta.

Police looked into some of these other alleged disappearances and found many of those cases had already been solved.

The RCMP also warned the public that “erroneous information can have negative effects to the investigation and to the well-being of the family.”

Amber, a mother of one from Mikisew Cree First Nation, was 20 years old when she was last seen leaving an Alberta motel room nearly a decade ago. Her remains were found two years later.

Her family has waited for answers since then.

Report says RCMP investigation into Amber Tuccaro’s disappearance was ‘wholly inadequate’

Her mother Vivian Tuccaro filed a complaint with the RCMP Civilian Review and Complaints Commission in 2014.  The commission’s report found “deficiencies” in the way the investigation was conducted.

APTN News reached out to the Tuccaro family. They said they’re waiting for more information from the RCMP.
