Prime Minister Justin Trudeau says he’s sorry he wore brownface at an Arabian Nights themed party at a private Vancouver school where he worked as a teacher in 2001.

Time Magazine broke the story early Wednesday evening showing the previously unreported photo.

The Liberal party confirmed the man in the photo is Trudeau.

In the picture, Trudeau is seen covered in make-up wearing a turban.

One hand, in make up, can be seen wrapped across an unidentified woman’s chest.

“I shouldn’t have done it,” Trudeau told national media on the Liberal plane travelling with him on the campaign trail. “I should have known better, and I’m really sorry.

“I deeply regret that I did that.”

When Trudeau was asked if he had ever done something like this before, he confirmed with reporters that in high school he sang the Banana Boat Song (Day-O) at a high school talent show.

“With make up,” the prime minister said.

  1. Julie Debassige says:

Where is the apology requested by the UBCIC for Chief Judy Wilson who was disrespected by Mr. Trudeau?
Where is the apology for Jodi Wilson-Raybould? Trudeau’s behavior in these two events points to a pattern of behavior of demeaning others for Justin’s benefit.
This Guy has no moral compass.
