Lacrosse players hit the water to score goodwill

A new national lacrosse team will take to the field in Halifax this winter.

And, in a symbolic gesture of goodwill, the owner from Six Nations has embarked on a canoe journey to kick off the expansion of the league.

Curt Styres is the owner of the Halifax Thunderbirds.

He says the city of Halifax has rolled out the red carpet, but instead of driving east he decided on a more traditional form of transportation.

The canoeists are visiting different communities along the way and participating in some games.
