Quebec Amnesty campaign aims to dismantle stereotypes

Amnesty International has launched a campaign to highlight the positive contributions of several Indigenous Quebecers in order to dismantle negative stereotypes.

The French language campaign showcases the work and extraordinary feats in the arts, politics and cultural sector.

“We’re doing this for the present moment, but it’s also for the future,” said Mikisew Awasish, a hockey player in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League. “For the youth growing up in communities, and youth with children — because society is evolving. Society is continually changing, and this has to be a part of it.”
