Gerald Butts, the friend and close advisor to Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is testifying before the parliamentary Justice committee in Ottawa.
Butts resigned from his position after the SNC-Lavalin affair broke.
He is accused by former justice minister and attorney general Jody Wilson-Raybould of putting pressure on her to intervene in Quebec company’s criminal trial.
