The Inuit groups are starting to speak out against the federal government’s Indigenous languages act.
Bill C-91 was well received by First Nations and Metis leaders when it was launched on Feb. 5.
But Inuit leaders say it falls far short of what they recommended during the consultation sessions.
Inuit Tapiriit Kanatami President Natan Obed went so far as to call the bill “colonial.”
And now Nunavut’s land claim president says Obed is right.
