Man from Nisichawayasihk Cree Nation dies on Greyhound bus on route to doctor’s appointment in Winnipeg

A man from Nisichawayasihk Cree Nation in northern Manitoba died on a Greyhound bus while on his way to see his heart specialist in Winnipeg.

Family of Abraham Donkey say he was transported to a health station in Thompson and was being transferred to Winnipeg.

They say he asked for a flight, or be allowed to have someone with him on the 12 hour bus ride.

The family says both requests were denied.
