OPP charge woman in child agency home after infant arrives at hospital with serious injuries

The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have concluded a lengthy investigation and charged a woman who worked in a home operated by the Tikinagan Family and Child Services after an infant arrived at a Winnipeg hospital suffering from serious injuries.

Police said in a release that Anita Strang, 51, of Pikangikum First Nation in Ontario has been charged with aggravated assault.

The incident occurred in September 2017.

That’s when police were notified by the agency that an infant who was living in an agency run home was sent to the hospital.

Strang is being held in custody until her bail hearing April 25.
