On Tuesday, APTN News brought you the stories of people who have been targetted by the Canada Revenue Agency over what the government says are unpaid taxes.

They worked for a temp company called OI Leasing that is situated in Six Nations in Ontario.

The company hired employees who worked tax-free because the main office was on a reserve.

But the government doesn’t see it that way and now thousands of people owe tens of thousands of dollars in back-taxes.

Here’s an update on what is happening with the case.

  1. reg Dahl says:

Start a CLASS ACTION across Canada against this fascist agency!!!

  2. What do we call this CRA ? Is this behavior (by CRA) considered normal or fair? How can anyone be threatened with CRA actions this way?
How can First Nations start to level the playing field. Where are your lawyers to defend against this CRA aggression?
Start getting a land claim in place on OTTAWA . They want claims – start claiming back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  4. I was one of the affected people of CRA’s harassment. As a result I had to claim personal bankruptcy almost two years ago. They claimed I owed them almost $700,000 in tax, penalties and interest. I had been lobbying the AFN and Ministers to help us get a remission order with no success. Chief Isadore Day was the only one who has stepped up to the plate. I want this settled so I can get on with my life.
