A festival in Calgary, Alberta meant to bring community members together has instead started a social media storm that is forcing event organizers to come up with a new name.

    They circled wagons to protect themselves and horses from predators. It also created a small paddock for the horses. Stop thinking everything is about you. This is a nonissue. Choose your battles more wisely. Also, it is historical fact that Natives would attack settlers, so don’t be trying to change history or deny it.

    1. That is the historical truth of it, however Westerns had cowboys yelling, “circle the wagons” when being attack by Natives because the writers and directora thought it sounded cool.
      Another historical facts is that settlers would attack Natives; no one is denying either fact here.

  2. First Nations need to show up to support the event and educate on why the name even if it is changed is so offensive to us

  3. Your article fails to mention that this event is paid for by the Petroleum Industry as well as Justin Trudeau’s Canada 150 fund.
