The Thunder Bay community visit will take place the week of September 11, and the public hearing has now been pushed to the week of Dec. 4.

The Saskatoon hearing will now take place Nov. 20.

The first community hearing will now be in Smithers, B.C., the week of September 25.

The final hearing of 2017 will take place in Rankin Inlet, Nunavut the week of Dec. 11.

It’s not clear which families, organizations or communities asked for the rescheduling.

On July 11, the law firm representing the Ontario Native Women’s Association sent a letter challenging the inquiry on the Thunder Bay date stating there isn’t enough time to properly prepare.
