In Ontario there are hundreds of hockey leagues – but none quite like this.
Hockey Cares matches teams from up north to teams in the south.
The goal is that they all learn about one another.
“Once we start talking about hockey, we know what we’re talking about, we’re speaking the same language,” said Sue Heddle, founder of Hockey Cares. “Hockey is a real way for kids to open up and talk to each other and that’s the way you start the conversation, with common ground.”
