Bill S-3 was supposed to fix gender inequality in the Indian Act once and for all.
But it doesn’t apply in many situations including if you lost your status before 1985.
The Senate amended the bill to fix that overnight.
But on Thursday, Indigenous Affairs Minister Carolyn Bennett rejected it.
I am angered and incensed that still Canada rejects what seas rightfully ours to begin with. Let’s see…….reserves, residential schools, systematic abuse, abuse of their power over us….cone in Canada it is 2017 And you still act like it’s the dark ages. I would just turn the other cheek but both sides of my face are still sore from the last injustices heaped upon Aboriginals and I still won’t bend over.
This has to be past by the house of commons not by Carolyn Bennett. Or do have a dictator as the Minister of Indigenous Affairs? She is doing nothing more than playing games.
This is way there is such a lack of respect for indigenous women!

We should NOT have “Indian Affairs” anyway NO Indian anything! Ergo no Minister !!!! Get rid of the whole lot!!!
