Charmaine Stick’s fight with her band council started two years ago when she went on hunger fast to have Onion Lake First Nation open their financial books.
Two years later, she’s still trying.
She’s reached out to Indigenous organizations like the Assembly of First Nations for help but says she got none.
So, she contacted the Canadian Taxpayers Federation, a non-profit designed to keep government spending in check.
The federation is helping Stick and started a court action.
The case is scheduled to be in Regina court Jan. 12.
