National Inquiry into MMIWG – InFocus: “It opens wounds, every time someone goes missing” – Bernadette Smith

Raw emotions run deep when someone you love goes missing in Canada

APTN InFocus with Cheryl McKenzie

In this edition, the families of missing and murdered Indigenous women share how hard it is when a loved one vanishes.

Even though the National Inquiry into Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women has launched, there are no public details on how, when or where the commission will openly proceed.

Families who voluntarily shared their stories in the pre-inquiry phase say they’re now left feeling in the dark.

We also get a police perspective on missing and murdered cases from a former RCMP officer who is now a private eye and authored the book, The Obstruction of Justice.

Plus, an interview about a true crime documentary series airing on APTN called, Taken – that’s focused on finding the perpetrators.
