Newly formed Mikinak community in Quebec claims Indigenous status with self-made cards

A self-appointed non-status Indigenous community has sprung up in southwestern Quebec.

They’re even making their own status cards.

But their criteria for who’s Indigenous is not terribly strict, and questions are swirling about their claim to have the same rights as status First Nations.
