Since coming back from Honduras, Mary Hannaburg does not pass a single day without thinking of the Indigenous Lenca people fighting for land.

Hannaburg is a Mohawk woman from Kanesatake.

She’s also the executive director of the Quebec Native Women’s Association.

And she recently heard the tragic story of another Indigenous woman, Berta Caceres, killed for her activism in the Honduras.

Now, she can’t get her story out of her head.
