UNDRIP powering need for consent: a duty that’s already within the Constitution, the treaties, and the Royal Proclamation – Cheryl Maloney

Mi’Kmaq leader says AFN’s national energy forum lacks Indigenous focus.

APTN InFocus with Cheryl McKenzie:

The Assembly of First Nations recently hosted a national forum in Vancouver to discuss the role of First Nations in Canada’s energy future.

Outspoken Mi’Kmaq leader, Cheryl Maloney travelled all the way from the opposite coast to take part in the discussions.

She says she’s not alone in her view that the right conversations are still not happening.

Maloney suggests the Trudeau government and even some First Nations leaders don’t understand what a nation to nation relationship really means.
