Saskatoon police charge man in the death of Karina Wolfe

APTN National News
Saskatoon police have charged a man with second-degree murder in the death of a 20-year-old Aboriginal woman who went missing five years ago.

Karina Wolfe’s remains were found Nov. 14, a few days after Jerry Constant, 33, walked into a police station with details of her July 2, 2010 death.

Constant is a registered sex offender and is reportedly undergoing a mental health assessment.

Wolfe’s mother spoke, through an interpreter, at a media conference Monday.

“Karina was stolen from our family, but she was also denied the opportunity to achieve her goals and dreams,” said Carol Wolfe. “This is something that should never have happened.”

APTN National News is following the story and will have more tonight.
