APTN National News
McGill University in Montreal is sometimes called “ Canada’s Harvard.”

But in its early days the university nearly went bankrupt. It was saved by a loan in 1860 from a trust fund for the Six Nations of Grand River reserve.

Six Nations says that money was never paid back and in today’s money that outstanding loan is now at $1.7 billion.

APTN’s Tom Fennario has the story.
