Yukon man happy video of RCMP officer hitting him has gone viral

APTN National News
Josh Skookum alleges he was brutalized by an RCMP officer seen in a video taken by an onlooker at a house party early Easter Sunday.

The video was uploaded to Facebook minutes after the incident and has been viewed close to a million times.

“I think it’s a good thing,” said Skookum, of Little Salmon Carmacks First Nation in the Yukon. “People deserve justice for not doing anything.”

Skookum has a broken nose and two black eyes, but was charged with resisting arrest and assaulting a police officer.

APTN’s Shirley McLean has the story.

Well, in a place like the Yukon this is the only Police option. To be assaulted by someone who is supposed to uphold the law and protect you is not only abuse of power, but disgusting and scary. Especially when you have no choice to live there. Who should be charged really?
