A drop-in centre in Ottawa where country food is served for lunch and that acts as a cultural getaway for First Nations, Metis and Inuit homeless people is closing.

A drop-in centre in Ottawa where country food is served for lunch and that acts as a cultural getaway for First Nations, Metis and Inuit homeless people is closing.

The government program which kept the centre open has changed its criteria.

While the city says Odawa’s clients will go elsewhere, other places do not provide the same culturally-sensitive services.

  2. I worked there in 1974 and 1975 I knew Maurice Lewis and his wife Barbara along with there son Derek one of the first jobs that help me get started.
