Sir John A’s 200th birthday in Kingston has it all, celebrations and protest

APTN National News
A big birthday bash in Kingston featured celebrations and protests.

It was all over Canada’s first prime minister Sir John A MacDonald.

He was celebrated for what some call the birth of a united country, while others see him as a racist who wanted nothing more than to rid the land of Indigenous peoples who did not follow his orders.

APTN’s Annette Francis was in Kingston for the party and files this story.
