Toyota backs away from rare earth metals mine in Quebec

Rare earth metals are fast becoming one of the worlds’ most sought after resources.

But extracting the metals is proving to be anything, but environmentally friendly.

Algonquins in western Quebec are opposing a rare earths mine on their ancestral land where Toyota was a partner.

According to APTN’s Tom Fennario the car company has backed away in this updated story that previously aired on APTN National News.
