Now that premier Christy Clark has approved the Site C dam, residents and First Nations in northern British Columbia are ramping up their court case.
The dam is expected to flood 5500 hectares of land along the Peace River along the eastern edge of the province.
Government officials say it will provide enough electricity to power nearly a half a million homes.
But local First Nations say the dam is a non-starter.
