AKWESASNE—Two Ontario residents have been charged with second-degree murder in connection with the killing of a 61-year-old Akwesasne man.

Akwesasne Mohawk police issued a statement Monday saying Rachel Fenn, 39, of Summerstown, Ont., and Philip Baldwin, 31, of Westport, Ont., appeared in court Monday and were charged in the death of David “Tawit” Benson Hopps.

Fenn and Baldwin are scheduled to appear in court again on Friday.

The police statement said Hopps was found dead by police in a residence on Cornwall Island on Sunday at about 1:50 p.m.
