Winnipeg elects its first Indigenous mayor with Brian Bowman

Winnipeg may be home to Canada’s largest urban Aboriginal population but it has never had an Indigenous mayor.

That all changed Wednesday night with the election of Brian Bowman as Winnipeg’s mayor-elect.

Some are calling the selection of a Metis mayor, historic.

APTN’s Dennis Ward has more on a campaign that seems to have inspired Indigenous people to be counted.
