An Aboriginal woman and former Winnipeg resident is competing in the hit U.S. television program, The Biggest Loser.

An Aboriginal woman born and raised in Winnipeg is competing in the hit U.S. television program, The Biggest Loser.

It’s a reality show where overweight individuals compete weekly hoping to shed the most pounds.

Jackie Pierson grew up in Winnipeg but now resides in northern California.

Pierson, 36, said she gained most of her weight after the death of her dad in 2004. She now weighs 291 pounds.
