But British Columbia First Nations have been saying tailings ponds are a concern for leaks.
That’s what happened recently in British Columbia.
APTN’s Tina House has the story.
apparently this company has had problems obtaining permits in order to release the large amount of tailings contained in an earthen dam. one has to wonder if this was a case of “let it go” and apologize after the fact. something corporations seem to excel at. what a tragedy for the whole area that need not have occurred. hopefully this same company will not be allowed to go forward with the red chris mine and be made accountable for their egregious actions.
