Japanese coal ship grounding off BC coast a harbinger of things to come, say First Nations

Last week off the north coast of British Columbia a Japanese ship full of coal ran aground on the very route proposed by Enbridge for tankers shipping tarsands bitumen to Asian markets.

There was no environmental damage this time, but local First Nations say it’s yet even more proof the waterways around their traditional territory are too treacherous for super tankers carrying oil.
