Justice Minister Peter MacKay agreed to meet with the families of missing and murdered Indigenous women after he was confronted on Parliament Hill with demands for a public inquiry.

A life jacket-clad MacKay was standing next to a mascot in the form of a red lifejacket alongside a group of children all wearing identical life jackets when his photo opportunity was interrupted by a woman with a message.

MacKay eventually agreed to meet with the families of missing and murdered Indigenous women.
