Federal Appeal court gives Metis same fiduciary status as status Indians

A Federal Appeal court upheld a case that if stands, will effect more than 300,000 Metis people living in Canada.

The court ruled that Metis have the same rights as status Indians.

At the same time, the judge did not include non-status Indians in the ruling.
