Human rights tribunal resumes hearings on First Nations child and family services funding

The human rights case against the federal government resumed this week with a history lesson on Indian Residential Schools.

The child welfare case resumed with testimony from a well-known historian, professor and author.

John Milloy provided the tribunal with an historical road map of the policies and roles of the federal government.

The expert witness is scheduled to be on the stand all week.

His testimony will cover the establishment of Indian Residential Schools and the transition to placing Aboriginal children into the child welfare system.
