The word sovereignty is making the rounds a lot among Aboriginal groups these days.

With its promise of a summer of sovereignty, that’s especially true of the Idle No More movement and some of the more radical chiefs.

But Perspectives is taking a look at someone who says it is more than a word. Used properly, it can be used to bring Aboriginal people out from under legislation like the Indian Act, into the realm of international law.
