AFN election process fails to reflect First Nations population levels, says Dene lawyer

Shawn Atleo’s re-election last week as chief of the Assembly of First Nations is causing debate in the Northwest Territories.

Some people there believe they have no say in AFN elections and believe the voting process must change.

One of those people is lawyer Valerie Conrad who is part of the Yellowknives Dene Nation.

She spoke to APTN National News from Yellowknife.
